Marco Tripoli came to London in 1995 to complete his studies in marketing and public relations. He decided to stay and follow his dream of becoming a fashion designer. Starting from the end of the whole process as a shop floor sales assistant at Harvey Nichols and progressing on to retail management and distribution. Marco worked with some of the biggest names in fashion, but got frustrated with the limitations of large companies.
Wanting to develop his expertise, Marco studied at London College of Fashion and the world renowned Central Saint Martins. Marco Tripoli London was his solo project founded in 2011. Marco Tripoli London is going from strength to strength with a small boutique tucked away in Barnes, South West London.
“Fashion has always been my passion. Clothes always surrounded me since I was a child, as my mother was a professional dressmaker. When I wasn’t observing her work I would spend my time in my grandfather’s textile shop.
“Being brought up in Italy by my mother who came from the very north of Italy, Veneto, and by my father who came from a town just outside Palermo, Sicily, I got used to great cultural surroundings. My father was an architect and I was always fascinated by his drawings and architectural eye.
“Fashion has always been with me, the sense of colours, the perception for the flawless design.”
